DELIVERING HOPE
We primarily focus our humanitarian aid efforts on the nations of India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Brazil and concentrate on four major areas:
- Children’s Homes in India
- Assisting the Poor and Needy
- Medical Aid
Quick Response to Natural Disasters
Jesus said, “If you do this to the least of these, you have done it to me,” in Matthew 25. This is a strong motivator for us at Global Messenger Service. Helping the children and the poor are part of our DNA. We began in 1984 ministering in India to those with Leprosy and since then, we have committed ourselves to feeding and clothing the poor and assisting those in need.
Over the years, we have distributed literally millions of pounds of aid and continue to conduct ongoing humanitarian aid programs in the nations of India and Brazil. When Jesus said, If you do this to the least of these, you have done it to me it is a strong motivator for us at Global Messenger Service. Helping children and the poor are part of our DNA. Since our first ministry to people in India who have Leprosy in 1984 until the present we have fed and clothed the poor, distributed millions of pounds of aid and helped the hurting.
Children's Homes in India
Fifteen years ago, Hope for the Children children’s homes were birthed in India; a boys home and a girls home. Most of the children are orphans without living parents. They are raised in a beautiful home with loving and attentive house parents, given an excellent education, stay very involved with church activities and actually live a pretty normal life! Our heart is to provide them with a secure home environment and equip them with the tools they need so as they reach adulthood, they can be strong Christian leaders in a nation of Hindus.
Assisting the Poor and Needy
Slum outreaches are carried out around the world. Cities such as Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, and Chennai, India, have all been aided and ministered to through slum relief. In a Brazilian slum of over 50,000, sitting on the side of the Corcovado Mountain, we help sponsor a ministry to their children. On top of the mountain stands the famous statue of Jesus, seen for miles. Though these children see Jesus everyday, they seldom experience His love. Living in a life of poverty and without much hope for the future, we are able to provide these children with food, clothing, tutoring and most of all, love.
Natural Disaster Relief
In 2005, we were able to provide over one million pounds of aid to victims of the devastating Tsunami that killed over 160,000 people in Asia, with our primary focus on Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina gave us yet another opportunity to provide rapid and immediate relief and follow up with long term help for those rebuilding their lives and homes.
Medical Aid
In Dehri-on-Sone, India we co-founded a hospital where each month those with medical need are given the proper care. That hospital has grown from its original twenty-five beds to a now one hundred plus bed hospital where thousands are treated each year. Attached to the hospital is a nursing school fully operated by the locals. It is a place of hope in an area of the world where very little hope is found.
