DEVELOPING, EQUIPPING & EMPOWERING LEADERS
"We Build Leaders" Seminars
“We Build Leaders” is our motto at Global Messenger Service. Since our first Pastors Seminar in India in 1984, to the present, we have ministered to more than 125,000 leaders in nations around the world. Many of these leaders are now the senior spiritual leaders of their nations. We find that in order to build leaders, it is imperative that we first build strong relationships with these leaders. We truly care about those to whom we minister, and it is our goal to really know them on a personal level. This is the reason we return time and time again to hold “We Build Leaders” seminars. Over the years, we have traveled to India more than 100 times, to Vietnam at least once a year since 1990, and in the last five years, we have traveled to Brazil more than 20 times.
We not only minister to leaders in our meetings, but also in their churches, in conventions, and in annual meetings. From time to time, teams are brought in to hold special seminars on topics like Children’s Ministry, Praise and Worship, and Evangelism. We’ve realized that earning the trust and confidence of the leaders is not something that will happen from just a single visit to their country, or through one or two seminars. It happens over time. It happens by going back over and over again. When we are there, we are careful to not pack our schedule so tight with meetings that we don’t have time to just sit and talk with these men and women. This is how relationships are formed.
Meetings For Senior Leaders
In many nations, we occasionally hold meetings which are by invitation only and are designed for the senior spiritual leaders of that nation. We have found that when bringing key leaders of a nation together, there is a special dynamic that can have astounding and long term results. As these men and women sit and talk, visions are shared and common ground is found. Resources and contacts are exchanged and networks are developed. It is amazing to witness the networks which have been formed as a result of these meetings! As a result, the long term relationships formed have impacted cities and regions.
In Vietnam, we have had as many as 29 different leaders of denominations and organizations attend. A few years ago, after hosting a dinner of this sort for 10 influential leaders, we were asked if we would consider sponsoring another meeting the next year, this time for a larger group. That year, over 400 attended!
Mentoring Leaders
As we’ve ministered to leaders around the world, many lessons have been learned. We have realized if we want to have a long term impact on a nation, relationships with the nation’s leaders are vital. Our goal is to partner with the great and powerful leaders who are already established and work with them in developing strategies for reaching their nation. Secondly, we seek out the young leaders, still in their formative years and help to develop them. Our track record is extremely successful in working with these young and up coming leaders. Many young men and women have been taken under our wings as we’ve helped them mature into powerful spiritual leaders.
Providing Tools of Ministry
Global Messenger Service believes in providing leaders with tools of ministry so they can be effective in reaching their cities. We have done this through the giving of Bibles, Video Bible Schools, thousands of concordances, sound systems, books on leadership, buses, vans, cars, motorcycles and thousands of bicycles. We have taken in photo copiers, cell phones, computers, printers and praise and worship CD’s. We have funded the digging of wells for those who live in remote villages with no water. We have also donated many film projectors, generators, DVD players, televisions, and tape players all over the world to leaders and churches in need.
Nations Whose Leaders We Have Ministered To:
Bangladesh, Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Fiji, Germany, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Senegal, Spain, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Philippines, The United States and Vietnam.
Mentoring Missionaries
One of the most exciting things Global Messenger Service has the opportunity to do is mentoring missionaries. We have been able to help nearly 50 missionaries move overseas and establish their ministries, their families and their lives. We have conducted two powerful “Missionary Preparation” courses and developed a “Missionary Preparation” syllabus with practical steps for getting to and staying on the mission field.
Round Table Meetings
Two types of round table meetings have been held. The first was designed for missionaries and pastors to collaborate and discuss the future of missions with the local church. The second one was an opportunity for missionaries to come together and discuss missions as a whole, and more specifically, how the world of missionaries is changing and how it affects the way we do things.
Cross Pollination
As we travel from nation to nation, we are privileged to see what leaders are doing to reach their own cities and people, knowing that these same principles will work for other leaders in other places. Often times, we are able to share these ideas with pastors who live worlds apart. We like to say that we are like bees; cross pollinating and carrying vision and inspiration from nation to nation.
